Restoration of road leading to Giurgiulesti customs of Moldova to be completed in 2022

Chisinau, 15 July /MOLDPRES/ - The works of restoration of the national road leading to the Giurgiulesti border crossing point registers a progress of the works’ carrying out of over 76 per cent on the first segment and over 35 per cent on the second one, and are to be completed in early 2022. The project’s details today were considered by representatives of the State Administration of Roads (ASD) with representatives of the entrepreneur, which implements the contract on the restoration of 85.5 km of the national road M3 Chisinau-Giurgiulesti.
The project is divided into two segments and provides for the rehabilitation of the road system of 54.4 km of the first segment, which crosses the exit from the Comrat city, the villages Chirsova, Congaz and Svetlii from the Autonomous Territorial Unit (UTA) of Gagauzia, villages Balabanu, Aluatu and Chirilovca from the Taraclia district and the construction of 31.1 km of new road from the second segment, which crosses the settlements Ciumai, Taraclia district, Burlaceni, Cahul district and the Vulcanesti town, UTA Gagauzia.
The overall cost of the works of repair and construction of the M3 national road is of about 30 million euros – money allocated from a loan provided to the Moldovan government by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The project will be fully finished in January 2022.
