Chisinau, 16 July /MOLDPRES/ - At least 174 new consumers from the settlements served by the Cahul-Gaz enterprise will be connected to the gas distribution network, after the completion of the works for its extension. According to the public relations service of the Moldovagaz stock company, over 1.4 km of gas pipeline with medium and low pressure will be set in the Gotesti village, Cahul district, alone, with potential to connect at least 29 new households.

According to the quoted source, over 50 new natural gas consumers will appear also in the Baurci-Moldoveni village, Cahul district, where, under the plan, about 2.2 km of gas network will be created. The extension works have been practically finished in the Pelinei village, where about 1.8 km of gas pipeline was set, with potential to connect 39 households. In the near future, the concerned works will start also in other settlements of the region, included in the plan on the networks’ development.

The overall preliminary budget of the programme on extension of the gas distribution networks from the group of the Moldovagaz stock company will be 79.5 million lei this year. Thirty million lei of this sum will be used for the construction of 28.3 km of inter-village gas pipelines – a first project of this kind in the last years, carried out with the own resources of the Moldovagaz distribution enterprises. This will allow extending the networks to the border of more villages, which will ensure the starting of their connection to gas supply.

About 145 km of gas pipelines will be set in all and the works are carried out in 63 settlements of Moldova. The number of new consumers forecast will be 2,500 at the first stage, with the possibility to double this number on the next period.
