In the end of the first day of the visit, the head of state met President of the European Council Charles Michel, with whom she discussed the results of the elections in Moldova, steps due to be made after the creation of the cabinet and the first actions of the new parliamentary majority. ‘’I thanked Mr. President for the plan on the economic recovery worth 600 million euros for Moldova, announced by the European Commission in the beginning of the summer and for the openness to back Moldova’s authorities in implementing the deep domestic agenda. Moldova needs a profound internal transformation and the European Union remains an important partner in this process,’’ Maia Sandu said.

On the same day, President Maia Sandu had a meeting with her Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The two officials tackled more subjects on the bilateral agenda and agreed that, with the swearing in office of the new Moldovan cabinet, the governments of Moldova and Ukraine would hold a meeting, in order to punctually work on these subjects, which regard the interests of both countries.

The working visit to Batumi ended with a constructive discussion between Maia Sandu and President of Georgia Salome Zourabichvili today morning. ‘’We reviewed the bilateral agenda between our countries, we agreed on extending the high-level contacts and to find innovating solutions for boosting the economic and commercial relations between Moldova and Georgia.
