Four contests of grants for developing business launched on both banks of Dniester

Chisinau, 22 July /MOLDPRES/ - The project, Development of Export Capacities on the Banks of Dniester (AdTrade), implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), with the financial support of Sweden and the United Kingdom, has launched four contests of grants for entrepreneurs, organizations for backing businesses and civil society from both banks of Dniester, in order to develop business and promote exports.

The grants contest, Joint exports through innovation and association, is open for project proposals on behalf of producers and processors from both banks of Dniester, willing to create together partnerships with importers/distributors from abroad, in order to enhance the competitiveness of the products and services provided, modernize the technological process and promote exports. The proposals of project selected will receive non-refundable financing worth up to 75,000 dollars each for purchasing innovative equipment. The deadline for submitting applications is 13 August 2021.    

In the appeal, Development of the capacities of the business support organizations and backing their competences in the advocacy sector, the AdTrade project will select at least five projects elaborated and presented by consortiums made up of business support organizations from both banks of Dniester. The winner projects will benefit from financial assistance worth up to 40,000 dollars each, in order to identify the needs and provide the necessary support to the private sector, strengthen the public-private dialogue, formulate solutions of feasible policies for improving the business climate on both banks of Dniester, etc. The contest pays increased attention to the consolidation of business associations of women from the Transnistrian region. The deadline for submitting applications is 16 August 2021.       

At the same time, within the contest of grants for promoting the access of women and girls from the Transnistrian region to science, technology, engineering and mathematics, two pilot initiatives will be selected on digital alphabetization and facilitating the access of women from the left bank of Dniester to information technologies, especially of those from disadvantaged groups. Proposals will be accepted on behalf of consortiums of civil society’s organizations (OSC) and academic environment, schools or private sector’s representatives from both banks of Dniester. The winner proposals will benefit from grants worth up to 30,000 dollars each. The deadline for submitting applications is 18 August 2021.  

The grants contest, Accelerating companies’ export potential, is meant for enterprises from both banks of Dniester, which need assistance to enhance their competitiveness and export potential, in line with the European standards and norms. The assistance will be provided during 24 months by national and international specialized companies/organizations, experts’ teams and the costs will be covered by the AdTrade project for the following types of services: accessing of new markets, marketing, sales, products’ promotion, participation in exhibition and fairs, enhancing productivity, adoption of quality standards, sanitary and phyto-sanitary certification of products, etc. The deadline for submitting applications is 12 August 2021.    

The non-refundable financial assistance provided by Sweden and the United Kingdom within the Development of Export Capacities on the Banks of Dniester (AdTrade) will contribute to the improvement of the business environment, creation of jobs and creation of partnerships, which would allow enterprises from both banks of Dniester to overcome the negative impact of the pandemic crisis and would give possibility to companies from the left bank of Dniester to access trade mechanisms available on the right bank, enhance their knowledge and abilities, increase the sales and diversify the sales market.
