Ninety one MPs out of 101 elected ones attend Moldovan parfliament's foundation meeting

Chisinau, 26 July /MOLDPRES/ - The foundation meeting of the Moldovan parliament of the 11th legislative period has started. Ninety one lawmakers out of the 101 ones elected at the 11 July snap parliamentary elections are present at the meeting.
The meeting is presided over by the eldest MP, member of the Party of Socialists Eduard Smirnov.
At the beginning of the meeting, kits with relevant information were distributed to the MPs, for initiation in the parliamentary activity and contact data of the distinct subdivisions of the parliament’s secretariat.
The meeting started with a speech given by President of the Constitutional Court Domnica Manole. Subsequently, President Maia Sandu conveyed a message to the lawmakers of the new legislative period at the rostrum.
Also, representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Chisinau attend the meeting.
As special guests, attending the event are the young laureates of a contest of essays titled, Work of an MP in 101 words, held in the context of the 30th anniversary of the legislative body.
The Parliament Speaker, the deputy parliament speakers are elected and the parliament’s standing bureau is set up following the legislative body’s legal foundation.
In a period of 10 days after the first meeting, the parliamentary factions working based on their own regulation will be created.
The parliament is regarded as legally founded starting the first meeting of the concerned legislative period.
