Future government of Moldova must identify resources to endow hospitals with equipment, head of state says

Chisinau, 26 July /MOLDPRES/ - The government must identify resources needed for the hospitals’ endowment with essential medical equipment for investigations and diagnosis. Besides, we must build the two hospitals in Balti and Cahul, in order to easier make people’s access to quality medical services. President Maia Sandu made statements to this effect at the foundation meeting of the new parliament today.  

In front of the parliament’s plenum, the head of state said that the health care sector reform meant the rethinking of the health insurances system. ‘’The money for the health sector can and must be better spent. People pay insurance policies and when they are put in hospital, they find themselves that they must pay additionally or have a less respectful treatment. This must be ceased and the people should be treated well and with respect,’’ Sandu said.    

She also said that the physicians must be motivated and kept at home and normal conditions must be ensured for them, both through salary payment and through facilities and endowments in hospitals. ‘’It will be necessary that the new government comes up with a clear-cut policy on the human resources from the health care system,’’ the Moldovan president added.
