Two lyceums from Dubasari, Ungheni districts of Moldova restored with EU's assistance

Chisinau, 28 July /MOLDPRES/ - The Centru Regional Development Agency (ADR Centru) on 27 July summoned to a meeting representatives of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the entrepreneur who carries out work of construction at two projects on energy optimization of the buildings of the lyceums from Holercani and Ungheni.   

The participants in the meeting discussed the construction works at the project, Enhancing the energy efficiency of the Holercani theoretical lyceum from Dubasari district, where so far, works have been carried out for thermal insulation of exterior walls, base and the roof floor, the roof of an education block was renewed, as well as works were carried out at the heating, ventilation systems and engineering networks. Also here, works of renovating the kitchen and the sanitary units have been carried out.   

The value of the construction contract is of 15 million 114,000 lei and the duration of the works’ carrying out is 12 months.  

The participants in the meeting also detailed the works carried out within the project, Enhancing the energy efficiency of the Mihai Eminescu theoretical lyceum from the Ungheni city, where works of thermal insulation of the education blocks’ facades have been carried out so far. The works of renovating the roof and the indoors works have been finished. At the same time, the first cycle of electricity, ventilation and fire alarm, the heating system of an education block, etc. have been fulfilled.  

The construction contract’s value is of 47 million 566,600 lei and the duration of the works’ carrying out is 12 months.  

Following the implementation of this investment measure, 101 employees and 1,187 pupils of the Mihai Eminescu theoretical lyceum will enjoy improved conditions at the lyceum, the consumption of energy at this education institution will be cut by 1,500 MW/hour and the annual emissions of CO2 will decrease by 330 tons.   

The two projects are financed by the European Union, in cooperation with the project, Modernization of Local Public Services in Moldova. The project is implemented by GIZ, in partnership with the Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Ministry and financially supported by the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
