Moldovan candidate for PM office says to make public list of ministers in early next week

Chisinau, 30 July /MOLDPRES/ - The candidate today nominated by the head of state for the office of prime minister, Natalia Gavrilita, has informed that she would make public the list of ministers in early next week.   

In a posting on her page, Gavrilita said she was honoured by the nomination and determined to fulfill the citizens’ expectations.

“Today, I was nominated by President Maia Sandu for the office of prime minister. I am honoured and determined to fulfill the citizens’ expectations. In the beginning of the next week, I will make public the list of ministers and I hope that, also next week, we will have the swearing in office in parliament. A period of work, reorganization of state institutions and economic recovery comes next,’’ Natalia Gavrilita wrote.

One hour ago, President Maia Sandu informed that she had nominated Natalia Gavrilita as candidate for the PM office.

„I signed today the Decree on the nomination of Natalia Gavrilita for the office of prime minister of Moldova, following the consultations with the parliamentary factions. Mrs. Gavrilita has at her disposal two weeks, in order to create the team and to work out the government’s action programme, which she is to present in parliament,’’ President Maia Sandu said.

Natalia Gavrilita is 44 years old and is economist by profession. She held the office of finance minister on the period 8 June -14 November 2019 and in February 2021, Gavrilita was nominated as candidate for the position of prime minister by President Maia Sandu. The cabinet of ministers put forward was turned down by the parliamentary majority made up of the Party of Socialists and Shor Party.
