Authorities found several cases of marketing non-compliant products

Chisinau, 2 August /MOLDPRES/- Inspectors of the National Agency for Food Safety (ANSA) carried out 163 official controls on 23-29 July. Most of the violations detected are related to the sale of expired food.
Following the controls, 38 prescriptions were issued, 15 reports on the contravention were drawn up, and seven activities were suspended. At the same time, 38.78 kg of products of animal and non-animal origin were withdrawn from trade.
Several non-conformities were detected, most of them referring to the marketing of expired food products. At the same time, the inspectors reported the lack of marking; violation of sanitary regulations; failure to display information to consumers in a visible place; lack of registers for temperature records in the spaces; lack of medical control and hygienic training of the employed staff; failure to ensure traceability; lack of documents of origin and quality certificates; non-compliance with the proximity of the products; non-compliance with the work schedule.
The National Agency for Food Safety (ANSA) reminds consumers to be cautious in hot weather and presents some recommendations to avoid the risk of procuring and consuming non-compliant food during this period.
In order to avoid situations in which non-compliant products can be purchased, which can endanger people's health and even life, ANSA recommends consumers to pay attention to several aspects: purchasing food from authorized places in accordance with the relevant legislation; the existence and operation of refrigerated display cases in which food is displayed; read the product label carefully to find out about the quality and composition of the product. the information on the label must include: the name of the product, the name and address of the manufacturer, the list of ingredients, the net quantity or volume of product, the date of minimum durability or expiry date, country of origin, special storage conditions and / or conditions of use, instructions for use, if their omission would make it difficult to use the food correctly.
