The institution’s foundation was influenced by more initiatives coming from personalities of the Romanian culture and culture institutions. The today’s subject is titled, Theatre as art survived through the classical repertoire.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, TNME director Petru Hadarca said that, in the first ten years after the war, the theatre had oriented itself to a repertoire marked by folklore and music, especially in the plays written by dramatists from Chisinau. Analyzing this period, a departed academician, historian of theatre Leonid Cemortan stressed that the musical and dramatic profile had been declared as the only direction of the Moldovan theatrical art and the musical and ethnographic style launched with the play titled, Outlaws, would put its imprint on the actors’ interpretative art. Some of them were playing and singing in Russian Romanian and Ukrainian.
