Chisinau, 9 August /MOLDPRES/- New ministers of Agriculture and Food Industry and Environment were introduced to the ministerial teams by Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița.
"It is a challenge for this ministry that will be reorganized. This involves budget changes, the division of sectors. Each minister will analyze his sector and propose a new way of organizing. Society expects a radical change, and our main task is to significantly increase confidence in the state for 4 years and stop the exodus of young people. I urge you to strengthen the ranks, and those who are eager to contribute to this change, to work with perseverance. In the field of environment we have some concrete steps to take: increasing the degree of afforestation - which involves changing the legislation, stimulating the afforestation process and changing the way we approach this field; waste management - we will create a monitoring unit for international projects; aquatic resources management ", said the prime minister.
Viorel Gherciu, Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry said "our mission is to build and develop a sustainable sector". "I am sure we will succeed. Farmers are the ones who ensure the food security of the state, that is why the agricultural sector is a priority. It remains to modernize it, to attract investment. That's why it is enough for each of us to do our job honestly ", he said.
At the same time, Iuliana Cantaragiu, the Minister of Environment, said "it is a success that the idea of separating these ministries was supported". "It simply came to our notice then. We need to rebuild the structures so that they become efficient. The field of environmental protection must be taken seriously, it is the mission of each of us. Everything we do is measured in air quality, water quality, in the proper management of waste and in creating better living conditions for people, but also for nature in general ", the minister said.
Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița and the new Cabinet of Ministers received the confidence vote from the parliament on 6 August.
