Moldovan PM had phone conversation with Ukrainian counterpart

Chisinau, 9 August /MOLDPRES/- Today Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița had a telephone conversation with Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal. The latter congratulated Natalia Gavrilița on her inauguration and voiced confidence that the two sides will have an effective collaboration in the European integration process, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

Natalia Gavrilița noted the availability and openness of the Moldovan side for the further development of constructive intergovernmental dialogue, as well as for the elaboration of mutually acceptable solutions on the entire spectrum of the bilateral agenda. At the same time, Gavrilița referred to the common values ​​and aspirations of the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine towards the European integration process, long-term friendly relations between the two countries, implementation of joint infrastructure projects and other key areas, which are reflected in fully in the principles of strategic partnership.

The Ukrainian Prime Minister confirmed willingness to pay a visit to Chisinau, at the invitation of President Maia Sandu on the 30th anniversary of the proclamation of the independence of the Republic of Moldova. Natalia Gavrilița and Denys Shmyhal will have a bilateral meeting on 28 August.

At the same time, the two officials discussed the necessary steps to start the construction works of the Cosăuți-Yampil bridge.

During the telephone discussion, the topic of resuming the activity of the Moldovan-Ukrainian joint intergovernmental commission on bilateral trade and economic cooperation was also addressed (last meeting took place on September 18-19, 2017 in Odessa).
