Moldovan deputy premier had phone conversation with Regional Cooperation Council Secretary General

Chisinau, 10 August /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration held a telephone conversation today with Majlinda Bregu, Secretary General of the Regional Cooperation Council. The official sent congratulations on the appointment of the foreign minister and discussed the role of the RCC in streamlining regional cooperation for the benefit of the participating states, the MAEIE press service has reported.
Popescu said that the Republic of Moldova will continue to engage in the activities of working groups, initiatives and regional projects proposed within the council.
At the same time, the Moldovan foreign minister pointed out that boosting regional cooperation to strengthen the European path remains one of the main priorities on the country's foreign policy agenda.
Popescu noted that our country will continue to follow developments in the region, including the process of eliminating roaming payments for Western Balkan states, facilitated by RCC with the help of the European Commission, Moldova being engaged in a process similar in size to the Eastern Partnership which is in the process of finalizing the Regional Roaming Agreement for the six partner countries.
