Food prices became cheaper, non-food products and services became more expensive in July

Chisinau, 11 August /MOLDPRES/- In July this year, prices for non-food products increased by 0.60%, and for services - by 1.37%. At the same time, food costs fell by 1.37% compared to the previous month, the National Bureau of Statistics has reported.

According to the BNS, in July, overall, average consumer prices compared to June increased by 0.08%.

"Average consumer prices in July 2021 compared to July 2020 increased by 3.49%, including food - by 4.20% and non-food goods - by 5.54%. At the same time, the consumer prices for the services provided to the population decreased in the same period by 0.45% ”, BNS said.

In 2020, consumer prices increased only for food - on average by 1.66%, while for non-food products, they decreased by 0.49%, and for services - by 0.30%.
