Moldovan cabinet earmarks about 960,000 lei for supporting youth initiatives

Chisinau, 12 August /MOLDPRES/- The government approved at today's meeting the allocation of 960 thousand lei from the state budget to support the district and municipal grant programs, meant for youth organizations and youth initiative groups. The project comes in the context of the International Youth Day, marked today.

According to the government's communication and protocol department, the project aims to increase the level of civic activism, develop entrepreneurial skills among young people, promote volunteer activity, etc. The money will be distributed to local youth councils in Chisinau, Balti, Anenii Noi, Cahul, Criuleni, Edinet, Falesti, Floresti, Nisporeni, Ocnita, Orhei, Rascani, Sangerei, Soroca and Ungheni.

The distribution of financial resources will be made in accordance with the partnership agreements concluded between the Ministry of Education and Research and the local public authorities.

The Law on state budget for 2021 provides, in total, 1.5 million lei for supporting district and municipal grant programs for youth initiatives at the local level.
