Over 670 people vaccinated at Causeni marathon

Chisinau, 15 August /MOLDPRES/- A total of 673 people were vaccinated against COVID-19 during a vaccination marathon that took place on Saturday in Causeni district.

According to the Ministry of Health, 195 people were vaccinated with the first dose, and 478 received the booster, being the people who were vaccinated with the first dose during the marathon that took place in the locality on July 24.

There were Pfizer BioNTech, Johnson & Johnson, Astra Zeneca, Sinovac and Sinopharm.

The vaccination marathon took place at the Center for Youth and Sports in the city of Causeni and in the vaccination points of the Causeni Health Centers, Copanca, Căinari and Taraclia, being organized by the Causeni Public Health Center, Causeni Health Center and District Hospital "Ana and Alexandru ”, with the support of the local public authorities.

Vaccination began in the Republic of Moldova on March 2. To date, 1,143,669 doses have been administrated. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 261,947 citizens have contracted COVID-19, and 6,304 have died from complications caused by the new coronavirus.
