Moldova's Official Journal publish regulation of Lower Prut nature reserve

Chisinau, 20 August /MOLDPRES/ - The regulation on the work of the Lower Prut biosphere reserve was published in the Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial) today, thus entering into force.

The regulation envisages the territorial distribution of the Lower Prut biosphere reserve, in accordance with the legal status of the areas; internal division in zones and the Map of the Lower Prut biosphere reserve.

The financing of the work of the Lower Prut biosphere reserve will be made within the limits of the state budget and other sources which are not banned by the legislation.

The reserve was included in the World Network of Biosphere Reserves of UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization), recognized through the Man and Biosphere Programme. The reserve, according to the requirements of the UNESCO Programme, has the goal to conserve the elements and the physical and geographic formations, species of plants and animals of national and internal importance.
