Moldova celebrates 30 years of Independence

Chisinau, 27 August /MOLDPRES/- Today, the Republic of Moldova marks the 30th anniversary of the proclamation of Independence, voted by the Parliament on August 27, 1991. Events will be organized in Chisinau and other parts of the country.

Several official delegations and high-ranking guests will attend the Independence Day festivities, including three heads of state - presidents of Romania, Ukraine and Poland. Earlier, the authorities gave assurances that the holiday program will run in conditions of anti-pandemic security and epidemiological protection, all participants are vaccinated, and the cultural-artistic agenda will be reduced, ending by 17.00.

The program of festive events on the occasion of Independence Day will begin at 8:30 with laying flowers at the monument Maica Indurerata (Grieving mother) and will continue at 9:20 - at the monument Stefan cel Mare. At this time of the festivity, only accredited cameramen and photographers will have access to be able to record photo and video images. Access will be allowed until 9:00 at the latest.

Next, at 10:00, on the stage in the Grand National Assembly Square (PMAN), will be inaugurated the National Holiday Independence Day, in the presence of the leadership of the Republic of Moldova and foreign officials visiting our country: President of Romania, President of Ukraine and President Poland. President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu will have a congratulatory message at 10:15.

In PMAN, the press, including reporters, will have access based on accreditation cards, in the sector reserved for journalists, located to the left of the Arc de Triomphe overlooking the stage. Accredited journalists will have to arrive on the spot by 10:00 at the latest, so that they can pass all the control filters in optimal time.

At 10:25, in the Grand National Assembly Square, the military parade will take place. In order to ensure security rules, the public will not have access to the PMAN.

The festive program will continue with a musical show, starting with 10:55, with the participation of the Advahov Brothers Folk Music Orchestra and several singers - Zinaida Julea, Mihai Ciobanu, the Osoianu Sisters, Catharsis, Maria Iliuț and others. Next, Cristofor Aldea-Teodorovici Orchestra will give a musical recital between 13: 00-13: 30.

During the concert, starting with 11:00, the general public and journalists will have free access to the Grand National Assembly Square.

Even if the events will take place outdoors, the organizers require all participants to wear a protective mask and to respect the physical distance, given the epidemiological situation.

From 13:30 to 16:00, on PMAN LED monitors will be shot several films directed by Viorel Mardare, a documentary video collage "SOVEREIGN MOLDOVA" and other short videos on promoting the image of the Republic of Moldova.

The 30th anniversary of Independence Day will end in the evening with the broadcast on the national television station of a thematic concert "Moldova - you are my homeland!", Which will be attended by the National Symphony Orchestra and the National Chamber Choir; Eugen Doga, Iurie Mahovici and Anatol Lapicus, Mariana Bulicanu, Taisia ​​Caraman, Adriana Babin, Aliona Triboi, Cătălin Josan, Pașa Parfeni, Viorel Burlacu and Brio Sonores.

The Declaration of Independence of the Republic of Moldova was adopted by the Parliament on August 27, 1991.
