Moldovan president meets counterparts of Romania, Poland, Ukraine

Chisinau, 27 August /MOLDPRES/- I have a special pleasure to host three heads of state and a prime minister, who accepted the invitation and are with our people today on the 30th anniversary of the proclamation of Moldova's Independence, President Maia Sandu said in joint statements with counterparts from Poland, Romania and Ukraine, Andrzej Duda, Klaus Iohannis and Volodymyr Zelenski.

"Our ability to act as a state has advanced in some segments, and in others we still have a lot of work to do. We will continue to work, and in order to achieve the targeted results we rely on the help of partner and friendly states. Relationships with neighbors and friends determine the speed and quality of our development as a state. The presence of the three presidents today in Chisinau proves that in 30 years we have managed to build many good things ", Maia Sandu said.

"Romania was the first state in the world to recognize the Republic of Moldova. Today I am here to reconfirm Romania's firm commitment to supporting Moldova on the path of modernization. We have a community of language, culture and history, we have always been with the Republic of Moldova, we have helped it and this support continues ", said the President of Romania, Klaus Iohannis.

President of Poland Andrzej Duda wished success to Moldova. "We are supporters of the policy of open doors in the European Union and we will support Moldova on European integration. We must accept and support the countries that are close and that aspire to the EU ", Duda said.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that his country and the Republic of Moldova "mark 30 years of independence in not at all easy conditions in terms of security." "We have many common platforms in this regard and we will initiate other programs to strengthen us as secure states in the region. May independence last for thousands of years, and may peace, tranquility and prosperity reign in the Republic of Moldova ", he said.

The three presidents, as well as Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal participated today in festive program and military parade, organized on the Great National Assembly Square on Independence Day. After the festivity, the leaders of the three states together with Maia Sandu held a multilateral meeting.
