Chisinau, 6 September /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Spinu, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, the leadership of the Ministry of Environment and the State Road Administration, the Border Police, representatives of the State Road Agency (Ukraine) and design companies from the two countries paid a working visit to Cosăuți locality, Soroca district, and approached construction of the bridge over the Dniester river.

The bridge will connect Cosăuți and Yampil (Ukraine) and will have a length of about 641 meters, 2 lanes, 2 safety lanes, 2 bike lanes, 2 sidewalks and a trestle with a length of about 667 meters on the Ukrainian side.

The access road to the bridge with a length of about 7 km is expected near the localities of Cosăuți and Iorjnița, reaching the bypass of Soroca. This road will ensure the connection of the bridge over the Dniester with the national road R14.1 R14 - Cosăuți - border with Ukraine and will be built from the financial means of the Republic of Moldova.

The bridge over the Dniester River will provide a transit corridor for Moldova to the European Union, as well as significantly reduce travel time from Chisinau to Kiev.
