Chisinau, 6 September /MOLDPRES/- About 35 tons of oil products that were to be sold illegally were discovered by law enforcement officers at several clandestine storage and marketing stations of these products located in several districts of the country.

According to the police, the oil products were sold "by recommendation", to retailers for the supply of transport units.

Potential buyers paid a price for a liter of fuel (less than those displayed at CEEC stations), and the payment was made in cash, so as not to issue a tax receipt or other documents.

Following the verifications, it was established that the pumps did not have supply devices equipped with household and control devices with fiscal memory connected to the distributor, no identification inscriptions (type, plant number, dose or capacity as the case may be, the manufacturer), as well as no metrological markings, which is contrary to the legislation on the marketing of petroleum products.

Thus, the law enforcement officers, following the measures taken, found about 34,700 liters of petroleum products, the total value of the damage caused is to be estimated. On these facts, 7 contravention cases were initiated for “Retail sale of petroleum products”, and if the guilt is proven, the respective persons risk fines of up to 30,000 lei.
