About 450 explosive devices liquidated by National Army sappers

Chisinau, 6 September /MOLDPRES/- National Army sappers neutralized about 450 explosive objects and over 1,500 cartridges over the weekend, in two localities in the districts of Ștefan Vodă and Căușeni.

According to the head of the Engineering Service, Adrian Efros, the demining team of the “Codru” Engineering Battalion intervened in Răscăieţii Noi, Ştefan Vodă district, where, on a nearby agricultural field, 250 ammunition and over 450 cartridges were found.

Also during the holidays, the soldiers from the Ștefan cel Mare Motorized Infantry Brigade were requested in the village of Plop-Ştiubei, Causeni district. Following the field research, 198 explosive objects and 1,100 cartridges were identified.

According to the Ministry of Defense, all ammunition was from the World War II and posed an increased risk to life.

Statistics show that since the beginning of the year, National Army sappers have performed 152 missions and destroyed more than 700 ammunition in different districts of the country.
