Presidency announced competition to select candidate for position of CSP member

Chisinau, 7 September /MOLDPRES/- Presidency of the Republic of Moldova announced today the organization and conduct of the competition for selection of the candidate for the position of member of the Superior Council of Prosecutors (CSP) among civil society, appointed by the head of state.

According to the presidential institution, the contest will take place in accordance with the Law on the Prosecutor's Office and the Regulation on the organization and conduct of the contest for selecting the candidate for CSP member of civil society, appointed by the President of Moldova, approved by a decree of 2017.

According to the latest changes in the legislation, the CSP will consist of 13 members. Previously, it had 15 members, with the following composition: the Prosecutor General, the head of Gagauzia Prosecutor's Office, the President of the Superior Council of Magistracy, the Minister of Justice, the Ombudsman, the President of the Bar Union, four prosecutors, four appointed members of civil society.
