Speaker meets head of OSCE Mission to Moldova

Chisinau, 8 September /MOLDPRES/- Speaker Igor Grosu met head of the OSCE Mission to the Republic of Moldova Claus Neukirch today. The meeting was also attended by OSCE Mission Political Adviser Paolo Tatti, the parliament's communication and public relations department has reported.

They exchanged views on developments in the Transnistrian settlement process and the measures to be taken in the near future.

The issue of neutral number plates was also discussed and the hope was expressed that a solution will be found together, so that ordinary citizens do not suffer.

The pandemic situation in the Republic of Moldova, including in the Transnistrian region, was also discussed. "Chisinau will continue to contribute to the well-being and health of the people on the left bank of the Dniester," he said.

Other topics of interest on the OSCE cooperation agenda were addressed during the discussion, such as respect for human rights on the left bank of the Dniester and security challenges in the country and in the region.

"We rely on providing the necessary assistance and expertise from OSCE representatives to the Chisinau authorities, so that citizens on both banks of the Dniester can enjoy free movement, without restricting access to services in all social spheres, including the medical system and education", Grosu said.

The Head of the OSCE Mission confirmed the openness of the organization in continuing a good collaboration and the willingness to offer all the support of the Republic of Moldova in the effort of the authorities focused on the interest of the citizens.
