Moldovan, Greek officials broach cooperation

Chisinau, 9 September /MOLDPRES/- President Maia Sandu had a meeting with Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Dendias, who was on a working visit to Moldova.
According to the presidential press service, the officials reviewed relations between the two states, focusing on opportunities to develop new bilateral projects and increase investment and economic contacts between Moldova and Greece.
"We discussed the participation of Moldovan firefighters in extinguishing forest fires on the Greek island of Evia, much appreciated by the Greek side, and we confirmed to Minister Dendias the openness of our authorities to intervene with such missions whenever the situation requires it," said Maia Sandu.
The president expressed appreciation for the conclusion of the Agreement in the social security between the Republic of Moldova and Greece. "The document was signed recently in Chisinau. We also appreciated the progress in the negotiation of the bilateral agreement on the conversion of driving licenses. We want a dynamic relationship with Greece, a country with which we have rich cultural and historical ties ", Maia Sandu said.
