94 percent of teachers in Chisinau vaccinated

Chisinau, 13 September /MOLDPRES/- Chisinau City Hall announced the immunization with the first dose of vaccine of 94 percent of teachers and auxiliary staff in municipal educational institutions.

Mayor Ion Ceban said today at the online meeting of the municipal services that the educational institutions in the municipality ensured the development of the educational process with the presence of students and teachers in classrooms, 94 percent of teachers being immunized with the first dose of vaccine . "I congratulate the teachers for the responsibility assumed in order to ensure the educational process with the physical presence of teachers and students - the acceptance of anti-COVID immunization is a proof of this responsibility," he said.

He also informed that the city hall has purchased quick tests for COVID-19 virus and these will be distributed to municipal educational institutions for testing if necessary. "Chisinau City Hall has purchased 2,318 quck tests for coronavirus and 800 tests come from donations. We managed to purchase these tests for 93 lei each, a lower price than the ones on the market ", the quoted source specified.

The mayor stressed that the process of vaccination and testing of citizens is an obligation of the authorities. "We purchased these tests to be distributed to each municipal educational institution so that, if necessary, teachers and support staff are tested," said Ion Ceban.

According to Chisinau officials, the actions were carried out to ensure the organization of the educational process with the presence of teachers and students in classrooms.
