Selectia Institute to benefit from new development strategy

Chisinau, 14 September /MOLDPRES/- CNFA Moldova has provided assistance to Selectia Field Crops Research Institute in Balti in working out a strategic plan on developing and increasing sustainability.

Thus, on September 4-15, American expert Bryce Malsbary was at the institute to provide the management of the institution with voluntary assistance within the USAID Farmer-to-Farmer Program, implemented by CNFA Moldova.

Among the objectives of the current visit of the volunteer were the revision of the economic-financial analysis carried out during a previous mission, the organization of sessions for the elaboration of the SWOT analysis and group discussions between the members of Institute team.

Based on the information collected and reviewed, Bryce Malsbary also aimed to facilitate the process of developing a strategic plan for the institute for the next five years by involving management, including identifying the sources of income and partnerships needed.

The volunteer also provided support for the development of a training plan and evaluation of the institute's staff policies.

The new strategy is opportune in the context in which the Government announced its intention to revive the domestic sector for the production of ecological seed material.
