Moldovan PM meets WB team

Chisinau, 14 September /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița had a meeting with World Bank team, led by energy manager for Europe and Central Asia Sudeshna Banerjee. The purpose of the visit was to discuss the World Bank's energy program and future programs for the efficiency and modernization of the national energy system, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
The World Bank team presented the energy projects currently implemented in the Republic of Moldova. It is about the energy system development project (PDSE), which aims to increase the capacity and reliability of the electricity transmission system in Moldova, by building a 400 kV overhead power line with a single circuit in the direction of Vulcanesti-Chisinau.
The officials also discussed the preparation of the second stage of the project to improve the efficiency of the Centralized Thermal Energy Supply System (SACET II) in Chisinau. This system comes to streamline the operational and financial aspects of Termoelectrica company, as well as to improve the quality and safety of district heating services delivered to the inhabitants of Chisinau.
"Currently there are many problems in the energy sector, we will prioritize projects to modernize infrastructure and improve energy efficiency, as well as those of connectivity to the European energy market," said Gavrilița.
The World Bank team expressed appreciation for the complex priority agenda set in the energy field by the new Government.
