Reunion of Romanian National Theaters, 6th edition, to be held in Chisinau

Chisinau, 14 September /MOLDPRES/- Several theater groups from the Republic of Moldova, Romania and Serbia will participate in the sixth edition of the Reunion of Romanian National Theaters, due in Chisinau on September 15-26, during the 100th season of the Mihai Eminescu National Theater.
TNME head Petru Hadârcă said that the event is organized under the high patronage of President Maia Sandu and President of Romania Klaus Iohannis and marks the opening of the 100th season of the National Theater Mihai Eminescu. At the same time, the event takes place under the auspices of the Ministries of Culture of Romania and the Republic of Moldova. "The reunion of the Romanian National Theaters is a cultural bridge that unites two banks of the Prut and will bring in front of theater lovers recent productions of both the host theater and other prestigious groups in Romania," said Petru Hadârcă.
This year's edition is in memory of departed actor Ion Caramitru, former Minister of Culture in Romania, former director of the National Theater I. L. Caragiale from Bucharest, recently deceased, who built several cultural bridges between the two banks of the Prut.
Attending the event, Minister of Culture Sergiu Prodan said that the institution will support all the important and valuable projects previously initiated, including the Reunion of Romanian National Theaters. "This year, with a disastrous pandemic evolution, we try to make every effort not to jeopardize the smooth running of the Meeting, to ensure safe public access to performances, to the high quality creative product," he said.
For the organization of the Reunion of the Romanian National Theaters, the amount of 400,000 lei was allocated from the budget, and the Romanian Cultural Institute granted over 100 thousand euros.
The first edition of the Reunion of Romanian National Theaters took place in 2014, and the initiator of the project is Petru Hadârcă.
