Over 300 ammunition found at Valea Mare Border Police, Ungheni

Chisinau, 16 September /MOLDPRES/- Over 300 ammunition were found on the territory of the Valea Mare Border Police Sector (Ungheni). The discovery was made by workers in charge of arranging the territory of the border subdivision.

According to the press service of the Border Police, in the afternoon of September 14, the workers in charge of the renovation of the SPF Valea Mare headquarters, alerted the law enforcement bodies. During excavations near the car speakers, 282 5.45 mm cartridges and 37 7.62 mm cartridges were found. Immediately the area was fenced and the intervention of the engineers was requested.

Subsequently, three specialists showed up at the scene and checked the territory of the border subdivision and made sure that there were no other explosive objects.

The ammunition was sent for a special examination.
