China interested in contributing to modernization projects in Moldova

Chisinau, 17 September /MOLDPRES/- Speaker Igor Grosu had a farewell meeting with Chinese Ambassador Zhang Yinghong on the end of the diplomatic mission in Moldova.

According to the parliament's communication and public relations department, the two officials reviewed the collaboration relations in the economic, educational, cultural, as well as interparliamentary sectors.

Igor Grosu thanked for the support provided by China and the important contributions in trade, investment and infrastructure. He noted that the People's Republic of China was among the first countries to offer assistance to the Republic of Moldova in combating the Covid-19 pandemic.

The sides discussed boosting economic exchanges by creating a legal framework that would facilitate Moldovan-Chinese trade relations.

Igor Grosu and Zhang Yinghong called for strengthening and expanding interparliamentary cooperation between the two states. They were unanimous in the opinion that the new composition of the friendship group with the People's Republic of China, voted in yesterday's meeting of the Legislature, will contribute to boosting interparliamentary cooperation.

The Chinese diplomat said that the country is interested in contributing to the modernization projects started in the Republic of Moldova.

Grosu wished the diplomat a lot of success in the subsequent activity.

Zhang Yinghong started his mission as Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Moldova in 2015.
