CNAM has arrears to finance hospitals in Chisinau - mayor says

Chisinau, 20 September /MOLDPRES/- Chisinau city hall has asked the Government, the Ministry of Health and the National Medical Insurance Company / CNAM / to urgently start settling outstanding payments and financing the municipal hospital institutions that have treated coronavirus patients.
Mayor Ion Ceban said at today online meeting of the municipal services that the hospitals are facing arrears from the National Medical Insurance Company. "Debts have accumulated to suppliers of consumables, and in some cases, companies refuse to deliver medical products to hospitals under the contract. It is a situation that can lead to serious difficulties in the activity of hospitals and in the treatment of patients ", he said.
At the same time, the mayor announced that due to the increased incidence of coronavirus, he decided to reactivate for the treatment of COVID-19 the Municipal Clinical Hospital St. Archangel Mihail. "On September 18, we decided the hospital should be activated with 300 beds, including 16 for intensive care. We have a complicated situation, but we manage at the municipal level ", said Ceban.
In this context, the mayor asked the Ministry of Health and the CNAM to urgently start settling outstanding payments and financing.
