More than 2,000 drivers fined on weekend

Chisinau, 20 September /MOLDPRES/- On weekend over 2,300 drivers were investigated by employees of the National Inspectorate of Public Safety / INSP / because they drove with deviations, of which 1,772 drivers exceeded the speed limit.

According to INSP data, also during this period, 52 drivers were found driving while intoxicated. Of these, 40 were in an advanced state of intoxication, six refused to pass the alcohol test, and another six were chosen with contravention files. At the same time, 233 drivers did not comply with the road signs, 106 violated the rules of stopping and not giving priority to pedestrians, and 83 pedestrians crossed the street in forbidden places.

INSP data show that in the first half of 2021, 1027 road accidents were registered, as a result of which 93 people died and 1171 were injured.
