Germany to support development of local communities in Moldova

Chisinau, 20 September /MOLDPRES/- President Maia Sandu together with several colleagues from the Government and the presidential administration had a discussion this morning, in videoconference format, with Parliamentary Secretary of State within the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development Maria Flachsbarth. During the discussion, the parties reconfirmed the areas of bilateral cooperation after the parliamentary elections in the Republic of Moldova, the presidential press service has reported.

"I thanked Secretary of State Flachsbarth for her efforts to support our country, but also for the generous support provided by Germany to combat the Covid-19 pandemic in the Republic of Moldova," the head of state said.

The officials also discussed the possibility of providing technical assistance to support the development of local communities in our country, for measures to support small businesses affected by the pandemic, but also to provide technical expertise to the Government of the Republic of Moldova. These and other programs are to be finalized in negotiations at government level in the coming months.
