Fuel prices discussed at meeting today

Chisinau, 21 September /MOLDPRES/- The National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) held a press conference today on fuel prices, the way of setting prices and effects of the new law, which was implemented this month.

ANRE director Eugen Carpov presented the deficiencies generated by the Law on market of petroleum products in the previous variant, as well as the main changes that were made by the new legislation and the expected effect of these changes.

A special topic was related to the international context, against the background of which the new way of setting prices was implemented and which created the misconception that the new law would have generated higher fuel prices. In support of the position, the graphs of Platts quotations for petrol and diesel were presented, which show that in September 2021 the highest level in the last five years of fuel prices on international markets was registered.
