Moldovan, Austrian officials broach cooperation

Chisinau, 21 September /MOLDPRES/- Speaker Igor Grosu had a meeting with Austrian Ambassador to Moldova Stella Avallone, in which Honorary Consul of Austria in Balti Stela Malcoci also participated, the parliament's communication and public relations department has reported.

Igor Grosu thanked the Austrian state for the multilateral assistance provided to our country, including through the Austrian Development Agency (ADA). He thanked the Austrian authorities for recognizing the vaccination certificates that will ensure the mobility of the Moldovan citizens.

The talks also aimed at boosting bilateral relations between the two countries in several areas. "We want to intensify cooperation with Austria and establish a permanent dialogue. One of the priorities of the current Parliament is to strengthen the rule of law. Thus, we rely on the support and expertise of Austria in the process of implementing reforms in the field of justice and the fight against corruption ", said Igor Grosu.

The officials agreed to continue interparliamentary cooperation by assigning systematic visits to each other at various levels, including that of the relevant parliamentary committees and friendly parliamentary groups, which will allow for the effective approach of several strategic areas.

Finally, it was mentioned that on March 25, 2022 we will mark 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Moldova and Austria.
