Moldovan president meets President of Swiss Confederation

Chisinau, 22 September /MOLDPRES/- On the first day of the UN General Assembly, President Maia Sandu had planned several bilateral meetings, the presidential press service has reported.
The first meeting of the head of the state was with President of the Swiss Confederation Guy Parmelin, and discussed how to advance the collaboration between our countries in areas of common interest. The officials agreed to increase Moldovan-Swiss commercial-economic relations. At the same time, they approached boosting negotiations on the free trade agreement with the EFTA countries.
"We have noted, in the context, development programs made with the support of Switzerland in our country, in areas such as water supply, education, health, migration and others. I thanked Mr. President for the generous help of Switzerland to support the fight with the pandemic - directly and through the World Health Organization and the Covax platform, " said Maia Sandu.
The head of the state also said that Switzerland is a trusted partner with which the Republic of Moldova wishes to develop close and further relationships.
