Moldovan president meets UN Secretary General

Chisinau, 22 September /MOLDPRES/- President Maia Sandu discussed on Tuesday in New York with Secretary General of the United Nations António Guterres about the challenges facing our country and region, the presidential press service has reported.
"We reaffirmed Moldova's commitment to support the global effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic and post-pandemic reconstruction, reduce the effects of climate change and maintain peace and stability in the region and in the world," Maia Sandu said.
The head of state also said that the Republic of Moldova supports the Secretary General's vision for the UN agenda, and the need to reform the organization, in order to prepare it to respond more effectively to today's challenges. "Such multilateral platforms must be fully used if we are to find lasting solutions to the challenges facing humanity today," she said.
