Moldovan deputy premier attends 10th Ministerial Conference of Community of Democracies

Chisinau, 24 September /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, at the invitation of his Romanian counterpart Bogdan Aurescu participated in a virtual format with a speech at the 10th Ministerial Conference of the Community of Democracies entitled Democracy and Resilience: Common Objectives, organized by Romania, the MAEIE press service has reported.

"We highlighted the Government's efforts to strengthen democratic institutions and the practice of good governance, by fighting corruption and reforms, with an emphasis on the key role of reforming the justice sector," said Minister Nicu Popescu.

The head of diplomacy of the Republic of Moldova pointed out that our country is actively taking measures to improve the human rights situation in the Republic of Moldova, giving considerable importance to the situation in the Transnistrian region.

The Community of Democracies is a global intergovernmental coalition, made up of member states of the Governing Council, which support adherence to the common democratic values ​​and standards outlined in the Warsaw Declaration. From September 15, 2019, the Presidency of the Community of Democracies is held by Romania, being extended until September 2022.
