Moldovan poetess edits book of poems

Chisinau, 27 September /MOLDPRES/ - A book of poems titled, Melancholies, by poetess Lora Rucan, has recently appeared at a publishing house from Chisinau.    

The volume was edited in 500 copies; it has 196 pages and is divided into four chapters.

According to a literary critic, PhD in philology, scientific researcher at the Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu Romanian Philology Institute, Tatiana Butnaru, the poetry of Lora Rucan, unique in its kind, naturally fit into the time’s literary context and was showed by the direct tendency to reveal a complexity of states, feelings, inner worries, which deepens a specific existential universe, urges to contemplate all labyrinths of the human nature.     

Lora Rucan was born in Taraclia village, Causeni district, in a family of intellectuals on 8 July 1953. She graduated from the Moldovan State University, Philology Faculty, journalism section (1976). Rucan worked as editor at the literary editorial office of the radio, at the publishing house Cartea Moldovenească, newspapers Viața Satului, Dialog and the Moldova magazine.    

In 2006, she settled in Italy (Genova, Liguria) and married to an Italian mathematician of international stature, university professor, author of two text-books. Lora Rucan attended diverse university courses, among which the History of Ancient Philosophy; Michelangelo, lyrical genre of the Renaissance, Italian architecture in the world. Periodically, she participated in tournaments of Italian chess and draughts, bridge. Rucan tried to write essays in Italian (saggi) and poems meant especially for children.
