Francophone University Agency to back more projects in universities from Moldova

Chisinau, 27 September /MOLDPRES/ - The Francophone University Agency (AUF) will support more projects in universities from Moldova. The subject today was discussed at a meeting between Education and Research Minister Anatolie Topala and the rector of the aforementioned Agency, Slim Khalbous.

The French official referred to AUF’s intention to contribute to the backing of the francophone sector in the higher education institutions through the setting up of francophone centres, which are to manage projects aimed at the professional insertion of young people who study the French language, guiding in career and educating teachers of French language. AUF plans to open 50 centres in 40 countries, including Moldova.

For his part, Anatolie Topala said that the ministry would provide the needed support to the cooperation projects meant to improve the quality of the higher education and provide new opportunities for students from Moldova.

In the last years, the Francophone University Agency (AUF Moldova) has invested about 450,000 euros, especially in the development of francophone branches in universities of Moldova.
