Chisinau, 28 September /MOLDPRES/- Justice reform and anti-corruption measures were the topic of a meeting that took place last night in Brussels between Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița and Didier Reynders, European Commissioner for Justice, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

"Justice reform is one of the government's top priorities. We will continue to work closely with the EU, as well as with the Council of Europe, including the Venice Commission, to ensure that all elements of the reform are in line with European standards, "said Natalia Gavrilița.

The premier also said that the Chisinau government continues to rely on EU support for justice reform, which is also reflected in the next Moldova-EU association agenda.

Gavrilita approached the actions that have already been taken or are to be taken in the context of justice reform - the strategy for ensuring the independence and integrity of the justice sector and the action plan in this area, amending conflict of interest legislation, checking judges and prosecutors.

Natalia Gavrilița reiterated the full openness, as a beneficiary of EU assistance, for cooperation with the European Public Prosecutor's Office. At the same time, she invited Didier Reynders to visit the Republic of Moldova to launch a high-level dialogue in justice.
