Moldovan PM meets members of European Parliament's delegation

Chisinau, 28 September /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita today in Brussels met the members of the European Parliament’s delegation to the EU-Moldova parliamentary association committee. The participants in the event exchanged opinions on the future relation EU-Moldova and the sectors where we can boost the cooperation, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.   

The PM touched upon the priorities on the agenda of the Moldovan governance, including: pressing ahead with the justice reform and fight against corruption; management of the COVID-19 pandemic; promoting the economic recovery and ensuring conditions for the economic growth and creating new jobs; consolidation of the state’s institutions and the country’s resilience.  

The participants in the meeting also discussed the generous plan on economic recovery worth up to 600 million euros in subsidies, loans, guarantees and investments. The prime minister noted that this support was essential in order to maintain and strengthen Moldova’s economy and that it would help increase the investments, improve the business climate, de-monopolize the economy, facilitate the digital transformation. Natalia Gavrilita gave assurances that all resources provided to Moldova would be used in order to stimulate a more ecological and more sustainable economy.    

„I am here to re-launch the dialogue between Moldova and the European Union. Our partnership is strong; yet, I believe that there is room also for a deeper cooperation and for stronger political, economic and sectoral relations. I am sure that this partnership is the key of our country’s prosperity and I hope that we will continue to consolidate the cooperation,’’ Natalia Gavrilita said.  

The European Parliament’s members reiterated their support for Moldova’s government and the ambitious agenda of reforms, set to be carried out by the cabinet led by Natalia Gavrilita.
