Next meeting in 5+2 format on Transnistrian settlement to be held in Stockholm

Chisinau, 6 October /MOLDPRES/ - The next meeting in the 5+2 format for the Transnistrian conflict settlement will take place in Stockholm.   

At a news conference on summing up the results of the today’s visit to Chisinau, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden, OSCE chairwoman-in-office Ann Linde informed that she had received the agreement of all interest sides in the political settlement of the Transnistrian conflict for the future meeting in the 5+2 format to be held in Stockholm.

„I had today a day full of meetings at the highest level, both in Chisinau and with decision-makers from Tiraspol. We ruled together for the next meeting in the 5+2 format to take place in Stockholm this year,’’ Linde said.  

At the same time, the Swedish official stressed that this had been her second visit to the Moldovan capital in 2021. ‘’This shows the importance attached to the political settlement of the Transnistrian conflict,’’ the OSCE chairwoman-in-office noted.  

The Swedish diplomacy head, Ann Line, paid a working visit to Moldova in her capacity of OSCE chairwoman-in-office. The agenda of the visit by Sweden’s official included meetings with President Maia Sandu and Foreign Affairs Minister Nicu Popescu.
