Moldovan foresters participated in professional competition in Romania

Chisinau, 7 October /MOLDPRES/- Foresters of Moldsilva Agency recently participated in the national phase of the Professional Competition Best Forester -2021 in Romania, held at the Olt Forestry Directorate and organized by Romsilva.

This meeting was attended by the winners of the county stages organized by the 41 forestry directorates of the Romanian National Authority, and the representatives of the Republic of Moldova - Victor Burlacu, forester at the Forestry Enterprise Hâncești-Silva, Sergiu Racoviță from the Forestry Enterprise Silva- Centru, Ungheni and Victor Dulea, employee of the Silvo-Cinegetice Enterprise Straseni, competed with their Romanian colleagues at the invitation of the National Forests Authority - Romsilva.

According to Moldsilva, the competitors' knowledge and professional skills were tested in various tests, including: the theoretical test, in the form of a grid test with questions from the main fields of activity specific to the forestry profession; recognition of forest tree and shrub species by seeds, leaves and seedlings, game species, and major forest pest species; sorting and determining the volume of logs by specific measurements and mathematical calculations; drawing up an act of contravention / crime and a report of detention, for confiscation, of wood material, of illegal origin, etc.

Out of 41 participants, Moldovan foresters won the 18th position in ranking. Within the National Forests Authority - Romsilva, this annual competition is appreciated both for the possibility of nominating and appreciating the best foresters, and for the opportunity to jointly address the problems and achievements of the forest fund.

Such projects and many other field activities are possible due to the collaboration between the Moldsilva Agency and the National Directorate of Forests - Romsilva and contribute to the increase of professional capacities. The agenda of multidimensional cooperation between foresters from the Republic of Moldova and Romania also includes activities and aspects of modern forestry, cross-border projects with common benefits and the pragmatic approach to the problems of the forest fund on both banks of the Prut.
