Chisinau, 7 October /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament today approved amendments to the Law on the National Integrity Authority (ANI) and the Law on the declaring of the wealth and personal interests in the second reading.

The document’s goal is to improve the legislative framework on the work of ANI and to prevent the conflicts of interests and of incompatibility among people who hold public offices.

Thus, decision-makers are to change the way the control of the wealth and personal interests takes place, so that, in the process of carrying out the control, they verify not only the incomes got during the exercising of the mandate or holding the office, related to the situation of the wealth owned, but also to consider and take into account the expenses made. In this respect, the subjects must declare also the services, the value of which exceed ten average salaries on the economy. The ceiling is valid for each category of services separately. The virtual assets should be declared too.

At the same time, in the second reading, the lawmakers excluded the article which allows the National Integrity Authority to ask the leadership of the public organization or authorities in charge of appointing the subject of declaring to office for the possibility to suspend from office the people in relation to whom decision-makers found out the infringement of the legal regime of the conflicts of interests or unjustified wealth.

The draft’s provisions propose to extend the control of the wealth and personal interests to the husband/wife, parents/parents-in-law and the children of the person subjected to control.
