Compensation mechanism for medical devices changed

Chisinau, 8 October /MOLDPRES/- The promulgation decree and the Law amending some normative acts were published today in the Official Journal and entered into force.

The document provides for the establishment of the legal basis for regulating the compensation of medicines and medical devices under the conditions of compulsory health insurance. At the same time, the contractual relations of the providers of medical devices and the National Medical Insurance Company (CNAM) are regulated.

Another provision refers to the commercial surcharge applied by the distributor and providers of pharmaceutical services for the compensated medical devices from the Compulsory Health Insurance Fund. Thus, when marketing compensated medical devices intended for outpatient use, an addition of up to 20% of the purchase price declared by the supplier will be applied, of which up to 5% for economic agents that produce, import and / or distributes compensated medical devices and up to 15% for pharmacies.

This law enters into force on the date of publication in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Moldova, and the Government, within 3 months from the date of adoption, shall bring its normative acts in accordance with this law.
