Chisinau, 8 October /MOLDPRES/- The case of Attorney General Alexandr Stoianoglo is of major interest to society as a whole and we must ensure that it is treated with the utmost responsibility. That is why we need more clarity in the trials that are now taking place in the General Prosecutor's Office and in the actions taken by prosecutors. The statement belongs to President Maia Sandu.
Citizens trust in this institution depends both on the efficiency of its activity and on the correctness and transparency of the procedures.
"I ask the Prosecutor's Office to inform the company in full and in time about the procedures applied in the case of Alexandr Stoianoglo, about the reasons for requesting the arrest for 30 days, as well as about other measures required by the case prosecutor, in strict compliance with the law. In this case, as in all others, maximum transparency is needed. The concealment of any information and the commission of any abuses is inadmissible ", said Maia Sandu.
The General Prosecutor's Office remained without leadership after Alexandr Stoianoglo was detained, and his deputies were suspended for a period of office. Currently, the interim position of General Prosecutor is held by Dumitru Robu.
