Concept for Calarasi in project on central Moldova's supply with water considered at meeting

Chisinau, 13 October /MOLDPRES/ - The Concept of Rehabilitation and measures proposed for Calarasi on 12 October were presented in the context of carrying out the activities planned in the project titled, Improvement of water infrastructure in Central Moldova. The project is implemented by the Centru Regional Development Agency (ADR Centru) and is financed by the German Federal government through the KfW German state bank.  

The meeting took place at the headquarters of the Calarasi mayoralty and brought together representatives of ADR Centru, designing company, local administration and Calarasi water operator.

After a thorough analysis of the Concept on Rehabilitation and the measures proposed, the sides involved are to jointly decide the activities due to be carried out, so that the implementation of the project, Improvement of water infrastructure in Central Moldova, is successfully continued.

The project, Improvement of water infrastructure in Central Moldova, is financed by the German Federal government, through KfW, while ADR Centru represents the institution of its implementation. The project’s cost is of 27.65 million euros, of which 25 million is the grant provided by the government of Germany and 2.65 million euros – the contribution guaranteed by the National Regional Development Fund.  

The project is seen for a four-year period, during which the residents of the Straseni and Calarasi towns will be connected to the water main due to be constructed and subsequently – of the priority villages from the two districts involved.
