Quantity of nicotine in liquid for electronic cigarettes to be decreased in Moldova

Chisinau, 14 October /MOLDPRES/ - The access to the heated tobacco products and the electronic cigarettes will be limited. The parliament adopted a draft on the amendment of the law on tobacco control in the final reading today.

As a result of the amendments, the visible exposition of tobacco products, devices and accessories of use, reloading or heating of the tobacco products and related products will be banned. The actions’ goal is to prevent minors’ access to the tobacco products and the related products, protect the residents’ health from the consequences of the tobacco consumption and exposition to the tobacco smoke.

The MPs also approved the decrease in the quantity of nicotine in the liquid for the electronic cigarettes. Thus, the lawmakers established the regulations approved in 2015 for the quantity of nicotine – 20 mg per one ml of liquid. This provision meets the Framework Convention of the World Health Organization.
